King Leonidas of Sparta defies danger replying
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ!“If you dare, come and get them” was his answer to the Persians’ request to surrender their arms during the Thermopylae battle 480 B.C. The Spartans in Ancient Greece were famous for their fearless warrior culture, strict discipline and verbal austerity known as laconic speech.
Di Gaia’s signature symbol, the Laurel leaf of “Victory”, travels to the punk scene and redefines its ancient inspiration by spreading the historical defiance message ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ in a handwritten, graffiti manner.
